People do too much. They use language they do not understand to appear eloquent. They post articles on their social media profiles on subjects that stunt them to appear well-read. They take pictures of themselves to convince everyone but themselves of a beauty that belies the ugliness they struggle to stifle.
People need to learn to respect the exceptional value of silence and the power of saying nothing when there is nothing to be said, because more often than not there is nothing to be said just another way of saying what someone else has already spouted and suffered for.
People punish you with praise rather than improve you with critique. People confuse admiration and envy; tolerance and respect; love and appreciation; dislike and hatred; loneliness and being alone; democracy and freedom.
People are so fickle and so fucked-up that we teach our children how to kill and call it justice; how to hate and call it culture. The whole world is misappropriating, misinforming and missing the point because we as a people do too much. I am aware that I am one of many people and this is probably too much but hey at least I added a selfie.
“People often claim to hunger for truth, but seldom like the taste when it’s served up.”
~ (George R Martin, A Clash of Kings.)
